Auburn adds Morehead State transfer Johni Broome

On Saturday, Former Morehead State F Johni Broome has announced that he will be transferring to Auburn.

Broome, a 6-foot-10 forward out of Plant City, Florida averaged 16.8 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 3.9 blocks per game last season for Morehead State. Broome shot 55.5% from the field, which is impressive no matter what position someone plays.

Broome had his list down to Duke, Gonzaga, Louisville, Houston, Memphis, Florida, Kentucky, and Auburn before cutting it to Florida and Auburn.

Auburn had a big task in replacing SEC Defensive Player of the Year in Walker Kessler and they found his replacement. I would expect similar numbers out of Broome.

Auburn was probably the best fit for someone like Broome because we all remember they got another transfer from a Kentucky college and that was of course Wendell Green Jr.

Broome joins Tre Donaldson, Yohan Traore, and Chance Westry in the 2022 recruiting class. Auburn is still in hot pursuit of five-star forward Julian Phillips.
