Florida QB Lagway Enters The Transfer Portal

On Monday, the news came out that Florida sophomore quarterback DJ Lagway will be entering the transfer portal.

Lagway will leave Gainesville, Florida after two seasons with the Gators.

Lagway was a five-star quarterback in the class of 2024 out of Willis, Texas. He unofficially visited many schools like Clemson, Baylor, USC, and a few others. He ended up choosing the Florida Gators.

In his first year as a Florida Gator, Lagway played in 12 games (starting seven of those). He ended up with 1,915 yards on 115-of-192 passing (59.9%), 12 touchdowns and nine interceptions.

In his second season, he was a guaranteed starter and was expected to have a great season. He ended up nothing having a great season but not a bad season. He had 213 of 337 pass attempts (62%) for 2,264 yards and 16 touchdowns to 14 interceptions.

It was definitely an improvement from year one to year two.

Now he will be trying his luck in the transfer portal. He will be hoping for some new hope else where. Would be curious if he went to a Baylor or Houston just because they are close to his home.
