The first game of the conference championship weekend was the Conference USA Championship game between Kennesaw State and Jacksonville State.
Jacksonville State started with the ball, and not much happened until the 2:36 mark in the first quarter, when Milon Jones intercepted Caden Creel in the end zone.

The first score of the game came from Kennesaw State right off the interception. An 11-play, 80-yard drive ends with seven points for the Owls. A three-yard rush into the end zone by Coleman Bennett was the only points in the first half.
The third quarter was five-minute drives by both teams that ended up with field goals. Kennesaw State made theirs, and Jacksonville State missed theirs. It was 10-0 headed into the fourth quarter. Either team could win it at this point.
The fourth quarter was truly where the action started. The Owls turned it over on downs, and then the next play, they caused a safety. The Owls immediately fumbles on the kickoff, and then Jacksonville State manages to score a touchdown thanks to Cam Cook. Then Caden Creel rushes it into the end zone from 19 yards out.

Then with 51 seconds left in the game, Amari Odom throws it to Navelle Dean for the 11-yard game-winning touchdown. The Owls have won the Conference USA Conference Championship.
